Our contribution to the wonderfully imaginative park that is "Queen Calafia's Magical Circle" is in helping construct the park centerpiece, a golden egg fountain. The art is located at Kit Carson Park in Escondido, CA. Each piece of glass had it's own initial mold, then each mold was inverted to achieve the desired result. The final mold that was reinforced with fibers for the kiln. Once the mold were completed glasswork could begin. The glass pieces were first painted then fired with Hanovia Gold. A layer of clear glass was fused on top of the Hanovia Gold to protect it from the elements and produce a rich gold color. Then the final glass was slumped into the egg shell shape. During installation, each piece was trimmed and fitted into place by our glass craftsmen and the artists on site. Price $12,000.
