Sometimes called flags, the iris, a member of the orchid family, blooms with stately elegance early in the spring. Their spectacular show of color is truly a delight with erect, full ruffled standards contrasting with semi-flaring falls. Flowers are of various colors; however, the prevailing tint is blue-violet. We feature the German variety or bearded iris. The beards highlight the iris with a startling contrast of color at the centers. The C20-18 Iris features two backgounds, the inner background surrounding the Iris itself and the outer gridwork background. Consider using the inner background to complement the iris (as perhaps with sky) and the gridwork to highlight the iris or coordinate with the decor in your room.
